L-tyrosine is a precursor to L-dopa, dopamine, nor adrenaline and adrenaline . Mucuna Pruriens is high in L-Dopa. The substitution of tyrosine is actually an upgrade. It allows your body to choose the right amount of tyrosine to convert into L-Dopa rather than just taking massive dosage found in Mucuna Pruriens.

Mucuna pruriens doesn’t have too much in terms of clinical evidence for its efficacy as a nootropic whereas L-tyrosine has much more evidence, both clinical and anecdotal.
