What to Expect from Nootropic Effects

Wondering what you should expect from the effects of a nootropic stack? Here is a 7-day log of a nootropic user.

The Stack: What’s In It?

  • Piracetam
Updating recommendations, Phenylpiracetam is much more effective and lots of vendors are out or restocking at the moment, this stack should still be incredible overall with or without for mental and physical agility, energy, and even fat loss. These supplements are my general go-to for being healthy.
  • Alpha GPC
RecommendedJarrow Formulas Alpha GPC 300mg Veggie Caps are cheap and the veggie caps are easy to digest. Benefits include memory increase, fat loss due to increase in HGH, and increased strength.
  • Fish Oil
RecommendedControlled Labs Orange Oximega Fish Oil, Citrus Flavor, 120 SoftGels taste amazing, no fishy aftertaste, and you gain all the benefits. Benefits include increases in most body functions, optimal brain health, joint improvement, mood boost, you really can’t go wrong with fish oil. It also synergizes with the effects of fat loss of ALCAR w/ ALA.
  • ALCAR with ALA
RecommendedSpring Valley – Acetyl L-Carnitine 400 mg PlusALA 200 mg is one of the only ones that include ALA in the same cap, saving you time and money. Benefits include, increased strength and endurance, mental and physical energy, and fat loss. Synergizes with fish oil well.
  • L-Theanine
RecommendedNow Foods, L-Theanine 200 Mg, Veg-Capsules, 60-Count is one of the highest quality for your price. Plus, the veggie caps are easy on your digestive system. Benefits include increased focus, relaxation and reduced anxiety, enhanced sleep, and synergizing with caffeine to create an “edgeless” focus.
  • Caffeine
RecommendedProLab Caffeine Tablets is high quality and cheap. Benefits included… well, you know what caffeine does.
  • Multivitamin
Recommended: Controlled Labs Orange Triad: Multivitamin, Joint, Digestion, And Immune is the best by far. It includes Multivitamin, Joint, Digestion, and Immune all in one supplement, making it optimize all your bodily functions. You will never feel better than when you take this, it just feels like your body should. I always use this with or without a stack alongside fish oil, the benefits are endless.

Reported Nootropic Stack Effects

  • Vivid Dreams
  • Deeper Concentration
  • Profound Mind-Body Connection
  • Easing Conversation
  • Thoughts flow
  • Focused
  • Creativity
  • Angst/Anxiety

Summary: This stack was outstanding as a general life enhancer. Even if you can’t find Piracetam (read here about Amazon removing Piracetam), I would still recommend this stack as an intro to nootropics. I felt so, alive, on this stack. My daily energy was improved, and I had endurance mentally and physically. My mood was boosted an enormous amount as well.  Now, I wouldn’t say this stack will replace your brain with some kind of super powers, but to me, it felt as if all my normal capabilities were supplemented and enhanced. You know those days where you feel on top of your game, and everything seems to go your way? That’s what this stack felt like to me, but every day. It just put my mood, body, and mind on the maximum level, all the time. It was great, my next stack will be the best nootropic stack mixed with some of the elements of this stack. I will also use some of the relaxation and sleep stack ingredients in the beginner nootropic stack guide.

The Log of Nootropic Effects

Day 1

  • Piracetam – 4,800mg
  • Alpha GPC – 600 mg
  • Fish Oil – 3g
  • Multivitamin
  • ALCAR/ALA – 800mg/400mg
  • L-Theanine – 200mg
  • Caffeine – 100mg

I went to the gym after my second dose and I felt a greater connection to my body than usual. My breathing was profoundly improved, and my range of movement and muscle control was greatly increased. Along with increasing my workout, strangely conversation came very easy to me, with me not having thinking too much of what to say yet what I said made sense  and I could kept going on and on, I’m normally unlike this. My mood was very uplifted, excited, and unafraid. Since it was Saturday, I was not able to test “book” functions, so I was excited to see if the effects carried over to brain function as well as it did with social and physical functioning.

Day 2

  • Piracetam – 4,800mg
  • Alpha GPC – 600 mg
  • Fish Oil – 3g
  • Multivitamin
  • ALCAR/ALA – 800mg/400mg
  • L-Theanine – 200mg
  • Caffeine – 100mg

Today was cardio day at the gym. I ran for an entire hour, running 7.5 miles, by far one of my longest runs. Burned 1500 calories, this stack definitely has a positive effect on endurance and motivation even while exercising, giving a better mind-body connection. My mood was uplifted, however not quite as elevated as it was yesterday, it was most likely because unlike yesterday, I wasn’t really in a social situation. Conversations came easier though. Thoughts flowed like water, and felt much more creative.

Day 3

  • Piracetam – 4,800mg
  • Alpha GPC – 600 mg
  • Fish Oil – 3g
  • Multivitamin
  • ALCAR/ALA – 800mg/400mg
  • L-Theanine – 200mg
  • Caffeine – 100mg

Day three came, and I didn’t nearly as “stimulated” as I did in the past days, while the cognitive effects remained. Perhaps its placebo or my body is getting adjusted to the dose (4,800 mg). However, all the cognitive effects were still present, and might have been even more prevalent. Leg day at the gym which I normally dread, but the mental boost helped me push through it. Cognition is up, class tomorrow and I have an exam later this week. We’ll see how much it helps.

Day 4

  • Piracetam – 4,800mg
  • Alpha GPC – 600 mg
  • Fish Oil – 3g
  • Multivitamin
  • ALCAR/ALA – 800mg/400mg
  • L-Theanine – 200mg
  • Caffeine – 100mg

Back to class and my daily grind. I decided to take slightly less Piracetam in the night because while it wasn’t keeping me awake at night it kept me rolling for a little while and kept my mind going. Bumped up the ALCAR, to help with the grogginess I had been feeling from yesterday and also lowered my L-theanine for that reason I am getting more focused energy (I presume from the L-Theanine & Caffeine) and more fluidity with my thoughts. I was able to read and take notes of two chapters in an hour, something that I had never done; while it had not become easier, I was just more motivated to do it as it doesn’t seem to be as much of a hurdle to jump over. Overall, I feel like this stack is going well, although I may modify or add on to it soon to further these benefits, I am really enjoying the improvements.

Day 5

  • Piracetam – 4,800mg
  • Alpha GPC – 600 mg
  • Fish Oil – 3g
  • Multivitamin
  • ALCAR/ALA – 800mg/400mg
  • L-Theanine – 200mg
  • Caffeine – 100mg

Exam day! Got an A like a boss; did amazing, memory recall was there and STRONG. I like this dosing better kept me going and alert through my evening/night workout. All the cognitive effects are there, yet they are subtler; not as “jumpy,” if you will, as when I first started but the effects are there. It feels just right, I feel at peace with the world and absolutely amazing. 4,800mg of Piracetam may not have been enough so taking it up to 10,000 mg allows me to channel focus more towards what I’m doing instead of trying to divide that energy into a plethora of things. Going well, we shall see how tomorrow pans out.

Day 6

  • Piracetam – 4,800mg x 2
  • Alpha GPC – 600 mg
  • Fish Oil – 3g
  • Multivitamin
  • ALCAR/ALA – 800mg/400mg
  • L-Theanine – 200mg
  • Caffeine – 100mg

Tried a higher dosage of Piracetam and again, feel better than when I took just the 4,8000mg dose. No fatigue and complete mental acuity throughout the day. I am starting to think the Piracetam is contributing mainly to my mood and mental effects,  my overall well being, energy, and mood increases to the Alpha GPC, fish oil, multivitamin, L-Theanine, and ALCAR/ALA. I would take those daily even without Piracetam, the benefits are just astounding.

Day 7

  • Piracetam – 4,800mg x 2
  • Alpha GPC – 600 mg
  • Fish Oil – 3g
  • Multivitamin
  • ALCAR/ALA – 800mg/400mg
  • L-Theanine – 200mg
  • Caffeine – 100mg

Last night I had some of the most vivid dreams I had experienced. Though I took my final dose of Piracetam less than an hour before going to bed so that may have had something to do with it. I’ll probably end up doing that tonight to see what dreams come to me. Again, with a lower dose the effects are there but they are subtle like most anecdotes note and it feels right. Absolutely no anxiety or jumpiness that I was experiencing earlier in the week, so it felt like this dosing is just right and will end up sticking with this. Overall, I’m really enjoying this stack and will continue it. If you can’t get your hands on Piracetam, I would recommend adding something like Noopept (Editor’s note: Link to source at very top) to it, or keep it how it is, because everything will do wonders for your life even without the Piracetam.

  • Zack

Very interesting. It’s great to know what to expect to avoid any disappointment. I would be interested to see how other stacks perform over a period of 1 week. Particularly, a stack containing Noopept. Thanks.

    • admin

I’ll look into this for you, Zack.

Noopept would be especially interesting because of how fast acting it is. I would log it myself, but I have been taking Noopept for awhile and the effects are the greatest when you start taking it. It really is an incredible boost.

Expect a post soon, when I find a logger to do it.

  • Josh

id gladly log it solo or stack it with anything of your choice!! 🙂 i just need a way to measure doses and i can log it. i have about 10 years experience with supplements

  • george

iam currently take 4 days know the entreprenurs stack but i havent seen any obvious changes.. can you tell me whats the reason for that thank you…

    • admin

No obvious changes at all? That’s strange. It is possible that you simply are just a nonresponder to these nootropics. Some people respond much more than others. The effects of nootropics are not usually “in-your-face-holy-shit-im-smart” though. Look closer into your day to day activities.

Do things seem sharper, sounds seem clearer? I noticed a considerable amount of clarity after about a week with Aniracetam and almost instantly with Noopept. What about your energy levels, do you feel more motivated at all? I noticed a considerable amount of energy that was about to push me through my usual daily fatigue, but I was more tired at the end of the day, in a good way from all the thinking.

  • Patrick

    Hey there,

I have been reading a lot on your site and the web. Thank you for all the great information. I will be receiving all my pills soon and can’t wait to stack. I got oxiracetam from SmartPowders.com and I’m curious what the difference will be and the dosage. Next i’ll try Noopept. I’m 6’4″ 190 and I am slowly getting into body conditioning.

    Pat

  • Patrick

Oh also, I didn’t get any ALCAR/ALA nor L-Theanine. I don’t know if that will make a difference and if it’s necessary.

  • Fernando

    Hello there!

Very interesting. I will do a similar stack, but will replace the Alpha GPC for the Choline plus Inositol from NOW.

Plus, is there any problem of taking those stack for 30 days in a row?
How long should you take a nootropic stack like these one?

    Thanks in advance!

    • admin

      Thanks for commenting!

No, there is not a problem with taking a stack 30 days in a row. In fact, usually it would be recommended to see the real long term changes nootropics can bring. The problem is, for most people, the first week or so is full of bias and placebo from people expecting more or less of what they think nootropics should be doing. However, nootropics are very subtle, and the small changes they make on your life seem to really add up over time. A month is the perfect amount of time to know whether or not your stack is adding what you want from it to your life.

I’ve even heard 6 weeks as the minimum amount of time of trying a new nootropic before giving it a full judgement. So, don’t be hasty, and don’t expect the world from these nootropics. After all, they are only “supplements”, and as such, give them time to supplement your life.

  • John

I’ve been on Piracetam for a few day now and also taking choline. Honestly I cant concentrate very well after taking the Piracetam. I’m studing for a big exam and was hoping the piracetam would help with focus and recall but this brain fog is not great for that at all. So I’m stopping the piracetam and just sticking with the choline for now. This is my first Nootropic. I have some Noopept on hand that I may try next. If thats a bunk then maybe I’ll try Adrafinil. Only positive thing I’ve noticed so far is less anxiety socially and a general positive feeling.
